Visual Studio 2022 - how to to Build Project with 'The type or namespace name could not be found' scenarios After Adding New Class Library
I've been researching this but I'm having a hard time understanding I need some guidance on Hey everyone, I'm running into an issue that's driving me crazy. This might be a silly question, but I'm working with a frustrating scenario in Visual Studio 2022 after adding a new class library to my existing solution... The project builds successfully prior to adding this library, but once I include it, I receive the following behavior: `CS0246: The type or namespace name 'MyNewClassLibrary' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)`. I've double-checked that the new library is properly referenced in the main project, and I can see it under the 'Dependencies' section. The project structure looks like this: ``` MySolution ├── MyMainProject │ └── (other files) └── MyNewClassLibrary └── (other files) ``` In `MyMainProject`, I have the following code trying to use a class from the new library: ```csharp using MyNewClassLibrary; public class MyClass { public void MyMethod() { var myObject = new MyNewClass(); // This line causes the behavior } } ``` I’ve tried cleaning and rebuilding the solution multiple times, and I even restarted Visual Studio. The class library's target framework is .NET 6, the same as my main project. I also ensured that the library project builds successfully on its own. Additionally, I checked the `csproj` file for `MyMainProject`, and it includes the following reference: ```xml <ProjectReference Include="..\MyNewClassLibrary\MyNewClassLibrary.csproj" /> ``` Despite all this, the behavior continues. Is there something I'm missing in the configuration, or is there a specific step I need to take to resolve this reference scenario? My development environment is macOS. Any help would be greatly appreciated! How would you solve this? I'm coming from a different tech stack and learning C#. Thanks for your help in advance! Thanks for any help you can provide! Any pointers in the right direction? I'm working in a Debian environment. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
