HTML5 video not autoplaying on mobile browsers despite correct attributes
I'm not sure how to approach I'm trying to implement I'm trying to set up a simple HTML5 video that should autoplay when the page loads. The implementation looks correct, but I’m finding that it just doesn’t autoplay on mobile devices, specifically iOS Safari and Android Chrome. Here’s the basic structure of my HTML: ```html <video id="myVideo" autoplay muted playsinline> <source src="path/to/video.mp4" type="video/mp4"> Your browser does not support the video tag. </video> ``` I’ve ensured that the `muted` attribute is included because I’ve read that most mobile browsers require videos to be muted to autoplay. However, when I load my page on a mobile device, the video just shows a black screen and doesn’t start playing automatically. On desktop browsers, everything works fine, so I suspect it’s a mobile-specific scenario. I’ve also checked for any JavaScript that might interfere with the video loading, but I don’t have any scripts that interact with the video directly. I did a bit of research and discovered that some browsers have specific policies regarding autoplay functionality. I’ve tried adding the `playsinline` attribute, which should help on iOS, but the question continues. Additionally, I looked at the browser console for any errors, but there were no warnings or errors related to the video playback. Is there a known scenario with HTML5 videos not autoplaying on mobile, or is there something I’m missing in my implementation? I would greatly appreciate any insights or workarounds that could guide to get this working. Am I missing something obvious? The stack includes Html and several other technologies. This is for a microservice running on Windows 10. Any examples would be super helpful. I'm working in a Linux environment. Any advice would be much appreciated.
