AWS S3 Bucket Policy Not Allowing Public Access Despite Correct Configuration
I've been banging my head against this for hours. I'm working through a tutorial and I'm collaborating on a project where After trying multiple solutions online, I still can't figure this out... I'm struggling with an scenario where my S3 bucket policy seems to prevent public access to my files, even though I believe I've set it up correctly. I have a bucket named `my-public-bucket` where I want to allow public read access to all objects within it. Hereβs the policy I used: ```json { "Version": "2012-10-17", "Statement": [ { "Effect": "Allow", "Principal": "*", "Action": "s3:GetObject", "Resource": "arn:aws:s3:::my-public-bucket/*" } ] } ``` When I attempt to access an image directly via the URL `https://my-public-bucket.s3.amazonaws.com/image.jpg`, I receive a `403 Forbidden` behavior. I've double-checked that the object exists and the URL is correct. I've also ensured that the bucket's Block Public Access settings are configured to allow public access, but the scenario continues. I tried removing the Block Public Access settings entirely but that didnβt resolve the question either. Additionally, I have verified that the bucket is in the correct region where my application is hosted (us-east-1) and that there are no additional IAM policies that might be restricting access. I've read about similar issues in the AWS documentation but need to seem to find a solution that works. Any insights on what might be going wrong or what I might be missing? I'm using the AWS CLI version 2.2.39 to interact with my S3 bucket. Thank you in advance for your help! Am I missing something obvious? This is my first time working with Plaintext 3.11. Could someone point me to the right documentation? I'm on Ubuntu 22.04 using the latest version of Plaintext. Any feedback is welcome! I'm developing on Linux with Plaintext. I'm open to any suggestions.
