Handling PHP 8.1 Type Errors When Using Array Destructuring in a Loop
I'm having trouble with I'm prototyping a solution and I've searched everywhere and can't find a clear answer... I've been struggling with this for a few days now and could really use some help. I'm working with a type behavior in my PHP 8.1 application when trying to use array destructuring inside a loop. Specifically, I'm attempting to process an array of user data, but I'm getting the following behavior message: `TypeError: array destructuring requires an array or an object for iteration.` I have the following code: ```php $userData = [ ['id' => 1, 'name' => 'Alice'], ['id' => 2, 'name' => 'Bob'], 'invalid_data', ['id' => 3, 'name' => 'Charlie'], ]; foreach ($userData as $user) { [$id, $name] = $user; // This line throws the TypeError echo "User ID: $id, Name: $name\n"; } ``` I've tried checking each `$user` variable with `is_array()` to filter out non-array values, but doing that before destructuring causes a separate scenario where I'll sometimes miss valid entries. I've also considered using `try-catch` around the destructuring line, but I'm not sure if that's a best practice for handling such cases. How can I safely destructure the array without running into this type behavior, especially when dealing with potential invalid entries in the dataset? Any suggestions for a cleaner solution would be appreciated! I'm working on a application that needs to handle this. The stack includes Php and several other technologies. Could someone point me to the right documentation?
