GCP Cloud Run Service scenarios to Connect to Cloud SQL with 'Access Denied' scenarios
This might be a silly question, but I've been struggling with this for a few days now and could really use some help... I'm trying to connect my Cloud Run service to a Cloud SQL instance using the Python `sqlalchemy` library, but I'm working with an 'Access Denied' behavior when the service tries to establish a connection. I have followed the official documentation to set up the connection using a service account and configured the Cloud SQL instance to allow connections from my Cloud Run service. Here's the relevant part of my code: ```python from sqlalchemy import create_engine import os db_user = os.getenv('DB_USER') db_pass = os.getenv('DB_PASS') db_name = os.getenv('DB_NAME') db_host = os.getenv('DB_HOST') # Creating the database URL DATABASE_URL = f'mysql+pymysql://{db_user}:{db_pass}@/{db_name}?unix_socket=/cloudsql/{db_host}' engine = create_engine(DATABASE_URL) # Attempting to connect with engine.connect() as connection: result = connection.execute('SELECT 1') print(result.fetchone()) ``` I set the environment variables in the Cloud Run console and ensured that the service account associated with my Cloud Run service has the `Cloud SQL Client` role. However, when I deploy my service, I get the following behavior message: ``` sqlalchemy.exc.OperationalError: (pymysql.err.OperationalError) (1045, "Access denied for user 'your_user'@'%' (using password: YES)") ``` I've double-checked the database user credentials and confirmed that they match the environment variables. I also verified that the user has the necessary permissions on the Cloud SQL instance. Could there be any additional configurations or IAM policies that I need to adjust? I'd appreciate any guidance on troubleshooting this scenario further. I'm on Linux using the latest version of Python. This is happening in both development and production on Ubuntu 22.04.
