Azure Kubernetes Service: Pod CrashLoopBackOff Due to Insufficient Memory Limits
I'm migrating some code and I'm upgrading from an older version and I'm relatively new to this, so bear with me. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but I'm currently working with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to deploy a microservices application. I've set up several pods, but I'm working with a `CrashLoopBackOff` behavior for one of my services, which is a Node.js application. I've defined resource limits in my deployment configuration, but it seems that the memory limits might be too restrictive. Here's the relevant part of my `deployment.yaml`: ```yaml apiVersion: apps/v1 kind: Deployment metadata: name: my-node-app spec: replicas: 3 selector: matchLabels: app: my-node-app template: metadata: labels: app: my-node-app spec: containers: - name: node-container image: my-node-app:latest resources: requests: memory: "256Mi" cpu: "500m" limits: memory: "512Mi" cpu: "1" ``` When I check the pod logs using `kubectl logs <pod-name>`, I see messages like: ``` FATAL behavior: Reached heap limit Allocation failed - JavaScript heap out of memory ``` This leads me to believe that the memory limit is indeed too low for the application's workload, especially during peak times. I've tried increasing the memory limits to `1Gi` but the application still crashes after a while. I also verified that no other pods are consuming excessive resources, and I've monitored the node's resource utilization, which seems to be within limits. I'm using AKS with the 1.21.9 version of Kubernetes. What steps can I take to properly diagnose and resolve this `CrashLoopBackOff` scenario? Are there best practices for configuring resource limits for Node.js applications in AKS? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Am I missing something obvious?
