Trouble with Custom Middleware Not Executing in ASP.NET Core 6 Pipeline
I'm migrating some code and I'm attempting to set up I'm working on a project and hit a roadblock. I'm developing an ASP.NET Core 6 application and added some custom middleware to log request details. Despite correctly registering it in the `Configure` method of `Startup.cs`, it seems like the middleware is never executed. I have the following code in my middleware class: ```csharp public class RequestLoggingMiddleware { private readonly RequestDelegate _next; public RequestLoggingMiddleware(RequestDelegate next) { _next = next; } public async Task Invoke(HttpContext context) { Console.WriteLine($"Request: {context.Request.Method} {context.Request.Path}"); await _next(context); } } ``` And in the `Configure` method, I've added it like this: ```csharp public void Configure(IApplicationBuilder app, IWebHostEnvironment env) { app.UseMiddleware<RequestLoggingMiddleware>(); app.UseRouting(); app.UseEndpoints(endpoints => { endpoints.MapControllers(); }); } ``` However, when I run the application, I don't see any request logs in the console. I ensured that the middleware is being registered before the call to `UseRouting()`, but it still doesnβt execute. I've also checked that the request actually reaches the endpoint defined in my controllers. I've tried using `app.Run()` instead of `app.UseMiddleware()` to see if it makes a difference, but that just halts the pipeline after logging. What could I be missing here? Any insights would be appreciated! For context: I'm using C# on Windows. How would you solve this? For reference, this is a production mobile app. I'm open to any suggestions. The stack includes C# and several other technologies. What's the best practice here? I'd really appreciate any guidance on this.
