AlmaLinux 9 - Docker Container scenarios to Start with 'scenarios: scenarios to create endpoint' When Using Macvlan Network
I've encountered a strange issue with I'm working on a personal project and I'm trying to set up a Docker container on AlmaLinux 9 with a macvlan network to allow the container to have its own unique IP address on my local network... However, whenever I attempt to start the container, I encounter the following behavior: ``` behavior: failed to create endpoint my-container in network my-macvlan: failed to add the host (veth12345) veth interface to the bridge (br-macvlan): operation not supported ``` I've already created the macvlan network with the following command: ```bash docker network create -d macvlan \ --subnet=192.168.1.0/24 \ --gateway=192.168.1.1 \ -o parent=eth0 \ my-macvlan ``` The network interface `eth0` is configured and up, and I can confirm that it has the correct IP configuration. I've also ensured that the Docker daemon is running in the correct mode to support macvlan. However, when I run: ```bash docker run -d --net my-macvlan --name my-container --ip 192.168.1.50 nginx ``` I get the aforementioned behavior. I've checked the permissions and SELinux status, and they both seem fine. SELinux is set to permissive mode: ```bash getenforce ``` This returns `Permissive`, yet Iām still unable to successfully run my container. I suspect it might be something related to the configuration of the macvlan itself or the host networking settings. Has anyone encountered a similar scenario? What steps should I take to resolve this? I'd really appreciate any guidance on this. I recently upgraded to Bash 3.11. Thanks, I really appreciate it!
