HTML Button Not Triggering Form Submission in Safari - solution with Input Types
This might be a silly question, but I've tried everything I can think of but I'm performance testing and I've searched everywhere and can't find a clear answer..... This might be a silly question, but I'm working with an scenario where a form submission is not being triggered when I click a button in Safari (version 15)... The form contains various input types including text, email, and a file input, but the button seems to be ignored. Here's the relevant HTML code: ```html <form id="myForm" action="/submit" method="POST"> <input type="text" name="username" required /> <input type="email" name="email" required /> <input type="file" name="profilePic" accept="image/*" /> <button type="submit">Submit</button> </form> ``` I've verified that the form is valid and all required fields are filled out before submission. However, no action occurs when the button is clicked. I also tried changing the button type to `type="button"` and manually triggering submission using JavaScript like this: ```javascript document.getElementById('myForm').addEventListener('submit', function(event) { console.log('Form Submitted'); }); ``` But the event listener isn't being hit either. I also checked the console for errors but didn't find anything suspicious. This scenario doesn't happen in Chrome or Firefox, leading me to believe it might be a Safari-specific scenario. Has anyone encountered similar behavior or have insights on how to troubleshoot this further? This is part of a larger CLI tool I'm building. Am I missing something obvious? This is for a web app running on Linux. Am I missing something obvious? I'm working with Html in a Docker container on Ubuntu 22.04. This is part of a larger CLI tool I'm building. Cheers for any assistance!
