Debian 11 - scenarios to Mount NFS Share with 'mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting'
Could someone explain I'm working on a personal project and I'm having issues mounting an NFS share on my Debian 11 setup. The server is running NFSv4, and when I try to mount the share using the following command: ```bash sudo mount -t nfs4 nfs-server:/exports/shared /mnt/nfs ``` I receive the behavior message: ``` mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting nfs-server:/exports/shared ``` I've checked the NFS server's exports file (`/etc/exports`), and it looks like this: ```bash /exports/shared *(rw,sync,no_subtree_check) ``` I've also ensured that the NFS service is running properly on the server, and I've restarted both the NFS service and the firewall after making changes. The firewall rules allow traffic on the necessary ports (2049 for NFS). I even tried adding my client IP explicitly to the exports: ```bash /exports/shared 192.168.1.100(rw,sync,no_subtree_check) ``` But I'm still getting the same behavior. I've confirmed that `rpcbind` is running on the server with: ```bash sudo systemctl status rpcbind ``` Additionally, I checked that my client has the required packages installed: ```bash sudo apt install nfs-common ``` Is there anything else I might be missing? Could this be an scenario with NFS version compatibility or some other configuration setting on the server? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! This is part of a larger web app I'm building. I'd really appreciate any guidance on this. What would be the recommended way to handle this?
