CSS Flexbox Alignment implementing Nested Containers in Chrome 118
I'm experimenting with I'm integrating two systems and I'm trying to implement I'm maintaining legacy code that I'm relatively new to this, so bear with me. I'm working with an scenario with flexbox layout in Chrome 118. I have a parent container set to display as flex, which contains multiple child divs. However, when I add a nested flex container inside one of those child divs, the alignment becomes inconsistent. The nested flex container is supposed to center its items both vertically and horizontally, but instead, it seems to push the items to the top left corner. Hereβs a simplified version of my code: ```css .parent { display: flex; flex-direction: row; justify-content: space-between; height: 100vh; } .child { display: flex; flex-direction: column; justify-content: center; align-items: center; width: 30%; } .nested { display: flex; justify-content: center; align-items: center; height: 100%; width: 100%; } ``` ```html <div class="parent"> <div class="child"> <div class="nested"> <p>Nested Item 1</p> <p>Nested Item 2</p> </div> </div> <div class="child"> <div class="nested"> <p>Another Item</p> </div> </div> </div> ``` I've tried adjusting the height of the nested container and checking for any margin or padding issues, but that hasnβt resolved the question. Additionally, I have ensured that my browser is updated to the latest version, and I cleared the cache just to rule out any caching issues. When inspecting the elements in the Chrome Developer Tools, I don't see any conflicting styles that could be causing this behavior. I also tested it in Firefox, and the layout works as expected. Any insights on why this might be happening in Chrome and how I can fix the alignment would be greatly appreciated! My development environment is Linux. Thanks, I really appreciate it! For context: I'm using Css on Ubuntu 22.04. Any pointers in the right direction? My development environment is Ubuntu 20.04. I'd really appreciate any guidance on this. I'm working with Css in a Docker container on Ubuntu 20.04.
