Pandas: How to handle datetime index reset without losing time zone information?
I just started working with Hey everyone, I'm running into an issue that's driving me crazy. I'm working with a DataFrame that has a datetime index with timezone information, and I'm trying to reset the index while preserving the timezone. However, after resetting the index, it seems like the timezone data is lost. I'm using pandas version 1.3.3, and here's a snippet of my code: ```python import pandas as pd import pytz datetime_index = pd.date_range('2023-01-01', periods=5, freq='D', tz='UTC') data = {'value': [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]} df = pd.DataFrame(data, index=datetime_index) # Resetting the index reset_df = df.reset_index() print(reset_df) ``` When I run this code, the output looks fine, but the timezone information is lost in the 'index' column of the resulting DataFrame. The datetime objects in the 'index' column are now naive. I've tried using the `reset_index(drop=False)` option, hoping it might help, but the timezone data is still missing. Is there a way to keep the timezone information when resetting the index? Any help would be appreciated! My development environment is Linux. I'd really appreciate any guidance on this.
