CentOS 8 - Docker Container scenarios to Start with 'scenarios: scenarios to initialize logging' When Using OverlayFS

docker centos overlayfs bash

I've searched everywhere and can't find a clear answer. I'm working with an scenario with starting a Docker container on CentOS 8 where I keep getting the behavior: `behavior: Failed to initialize logging`. This happens specifically when I configure Docker to use OverlayFS as the storage driver. I have checked my Docker version, which is 20.10.8, and it seems to be up-to-date. My kernel version is 4.18.0-240.el8.x86_64, and I’ve ensured that OverlayFS support is compiled into the kernel. I initially tried using the default storage driver (overlay2), but it didn't resolve the scenario. I even removed and reinstalled Docker and cleared out the `/var/lib/docker` directory. To configure the storage driver, I modified the `/etc/docker/daemon.json` file as follows: ```json { "storage-driver": "overlay" } ``` After making this change, I restarted the Docker service using `systemctl restart docker`. However, when I attempt to start a container with `docker run hello-world`, I still get the same behavior message. I've also checked the logs in `/var/log/messages` and found this entry: `Aug 30 12:00:00 myhost dockerd[1234]: behavior while processing event: behavior: Failed to initialize logging`. I would appreciate any insights into why this might be happening and how to resolve it. Is there a specific configuration I might be overlooking, or is this a known scenario with the OverlayFS driver on CentOS 8?
