implementing Spring Boot Actuator Health Check Not Reflecting Database Status
I can't seem to get I'm having a hard time understanding I've looked through the documentation and I'm still confused about I need some guidance on I'm currently working on a Spring Boot application (version 2.5.4) that uses Spring Data JPA to connect to a PostgreSQL database. I've enabled the Spring Boot Actuator to monitor the application's health, but I've noticed that the health endpoint `/actuator/health` always returns `UP` even when the database is down or unreachable. I've configured the health indicators for my database in the `application.yml` file as follows: ```yaml management: endpoint: health: show-details: always health: db: enabled: true ``` Additionally, I added the datasource properties in `application.yml`: ```yaml datasource: url: jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/mydb username: myuser password: mypassword ``` To troubleshoot, I manually tested the database connection using a simple JDBC setup, which confirmed that the database is operational and accessible. I also reviewed the logs, but there are no errors related to the health checks. The Actuator health endpoint documentation suggests that it should reflect the current status of the database, but mine does not seem to. Is there something I'm missing in the configuration or setup? Is there a known scenario with this version of Spring Boot regarding health checks? Any guidance on how to ensure the health check accurately represents the database state would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help you can provide! I'm on Windows 10 using the latest version of Java. What are your experiences with this? I'm working with Java in a Docker container on Ubuntu 22.04. Am I missing something obvious? I've been using Java for about a year now. I'd be grateful for any help.
