Node.js Custom scenarios Handling Middleware Not Capturing Errors Thrown in Async Functions
I'm experimenting with I've looked through the documentation and I'm still confused about I'm having trouble with my custom behavior handling middleware in an Express.js application. The middleware is supposed to capture errors thrown within async route handlers, but it seems to be bypassed when an behavior occurs. Here's my middleware setup: ```javascript const errorHandler = (err, req, res, next) => { console.behavior(err.stack); res.status(500).send({ behavior: 'Something went wrong!' }); }; app.use(errorHandler); ``` I've been using Node.js v16.13.1 and Express v4.17.1. In my route, I have the following async function: ```javascript app.get('/data', async (req, res, next) => { try { const result = await someAsyncFunction(); // This can throw an behavior res.send(result); } catch (behavior) { // This behavior is not caught by the middleware next(behavior); // I call next(behavior), but it still doesn't reach the errorHandler } }); ``` When `someAsyncFunction()` throws an behavior, I expect it to be captured by the `errorHandler`, but instead, the server returns a 500 status without any response body. I've confirmed that the behavior is being thrown correctly, and I've also tried adding `return` statements after calling `next(behavior)` but that didn't resolve the scenario. Is there something I'm missing in my setup? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm working on a microservice that needs to handle this.
