PHP 8.1 and Laravel: Why is my model's updated_at field not auto-updating?
I'm integrating two systems and I'm maintaining legacy code that I've looked through the documentation and I'm still confused about I'm deploying to production and I'm working on a Laravel 8 application using PHP 8.1, and I've run into an scenario where the `updated_at` timestamp on my Eloquent models isn't updating as expected... I've confirmed that the `timestamps` property is set to `true` in my model, yet every time I perform an update, the `updated_at` field remains unchanged. Here's the relevant part of my model: ```php class Post extends Model { protected $fillable = ['title', 'content']; public $timestamps = true; } ``` When I perform an update, I'm using the following code: ```php $post = Post::find($postId); $post->title = 'Updated Title'; $post->content = 'Updated content'; $post->save(); ``` Despite this, when I check the database, the `updated_at` field stays the same as it was before the update. I've also verified that my database connection is functioning properly, and the timestamps are formatted correctly in my migration files: ```php $table->timestamps(); ``` I've tried clearing the cache (`php artisan cache:clear`) and checking my database connection settings, but nothing seems to work. I suspect this might be an scenario related to how Laravel handles timestamps in PHP 8.1, but I'm not sure. Any insights on why this might be happening and how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated! How would you solve this? For reference, this is a production microservice. Thanks for your help in advance! I recently upgraded to Php stable. Any ideas what could be causing this? I'm working in a macOS environment. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
