Eclipse 2023-09: implementing Maven Dependency Management implementation guide After Changes

I need some guidance on I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but Hey everyone, I'm running into an issue that's driving me crazy. I'm having a hard time with Maven dependency management in Eclipse IDE 2023-09. I've been trying to update some dependencies in my `pom.xml`, but it seems like Eclipse is not recognizing the updates. After modifying the dependencies, I right-clicked on my project and selected 'Maven' > 'Update Project...'. I made sure 'Force Update of Snapshots/Releases' was checked, but the changes aren't reflected in the project build path. For instance, I added the following dependency to my `pom.xml`: ```xml <dependency> <groupId>org.springframework.boot</groupId> <artifactId>spring-boot-starter-web</artifactId> <version>3.0.0</version> </dependency> ``` However, I still see the old version `2.5.0` being used, and when I run my application, it throws a `java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError` for classes that were introduced in the newer version. I've also tried cleaning the project using 'Project' > 'Clean...' but that didn't help either. Additionally, I checked the `Maven Dependencies` folder under `Java Build Path`, and it still shows the old version. I even tried deleting the `.m2` repository cache and forcing a re-download of the dependencies, but that didn’t resolve the scenario. Is there any specific configuration or setting in Eclipse that I might be missing to ensure that the Maven dependencies are updated correctly? Any ideas what could be causing this? How would you solve this? The stack includes Java and several other technologies. Thanks for any help you can provide! Hoping someone can shed some light on this.
