Excel SUMIFS Function Not Considering Date Criteria Correctly
I need some guidance on I'm having trouble with I'm testing a new approach and I've hit a wall trying to Quick question that's been bugging me - I'm currently working with an scenario with the `SUMIFS` function in Excel where it seems to be ignoring date criteria when summing values. I'm using Excel 365, and my formula looks like this: ```excel =SUMIFS(D:D, A:A, ">=2023-01-01", A:A, "<=2023-12-31") ``` Here, column A contains dates, and column D contains the sales amounts I want to sum. However, it returns 0 even though there are matching entries for that date range. I've double-checked that all dates are correctly formatted as `YYYY-MM-DD` and that the data type of the cells in column A is 'Date'. To troubleshoot, I tested the formula with individual conditions, like this: ```excel =SUMIFS(D:D, A:A, "=2023-01-01") ``` This returned the correct value for sales on January 1st, but the range criteria are not working as expected. I also tried using `DATE` function to make sure the argument types were correct: ```excel =SUMIFS(D:D, A:A, ">="&DATE(2023,1,1), A:A, "<="&DATE(2023,12,31)) ``` Still, the result is 0. I suspect there might be an scenario with how Excel interprets the date strings, especially since I've imported this data from a CSV file recently. Is there a way to ensure that the dates are correctly recognized, or is there a better approach to handling this? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! I'd really appreciate any guidance on this. I'm using Excel LTS in this project. How would you solve this? I've been using Excel for about a year now. Cheers for any assistance! Thanks, I really appreciate it!
