Excel Power Query: how to to Refresh Data Source with Updated Credentials
I'm relatively new to this, so bear with me. I'm stuck trying to This might be a silly question, but Quick question that's been bugging me - I'm working with an scenario with Excel's Power Query where I'm unable to refresh my data source after rotating my database credentials... I initially set up a connection to a SQL Server database using the 'From Database' option and everything worked perfectly. However, after changing the password for my database user account, I can no longer refresh the data without this behavior: 'The credentials provided for the SqlDatabase source are invalid.' Iβve tried the following steps: 1. Going to 'Data' -> 'Get Data' -> 'Data Source Settings' and updating the credentials directly there. I've selected 'Edit Permissions' and re-entered my username and the new password, but the behavior continues. 2. I also attempted to remove the connection and re-establish it from scratch, but still encountered the same scenario. 3. I verified that the SQL Server is reachable from my machine and that I can log in using the new credentials through SQL Server Management Studio. Hereβs the M code snippet Iβm using in Power Query for reference: ```m let Source = Sql.Database("MyServerName", "MyDatabaseName", [CreateNavigationProperties = false]), dbo_MyTable = Source{[Schema="dbo",Item="MyTable"]}[Data] in dbo_MyTable ``` Iβm using Excel 365, and I suspect it could be a caching scenario or something related to how Power Query handles credential updates. Any insights on how to successfully apply the new credentials so that I can refresh the data would be greatly appreciated! For context: I'm using M on macOS. This is happening in both development and production on macOS. What are your experiences with this? The project is a REST API built with M. I'm coming from a different tech stack and learning M. Has anyone else encountered this?
