scenarios when using tidyr's pivot_longer with NA values in column names
After trying multiple solutions online, I still can't figure this out... I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but I'm trying to reshape my data frame using `pivot_longer` from the `tidyr` package, but I'm running into issues when my column names contain `NA` values... Here's what my data looks like: ```r library(tidyr) original_data <- data.frame( id = 1:3, `2023-A` = c(5, NA, 10), `2023-B` = c(3, 6, NA), `2023-C` = c(NA, NA, 2) ) ``` When I attempt to pivot this data frame, I get an behavior indicating that column names want to be `NA`: ```r long_data <- pivot_longer(original_data, cols = starts_with("2023"), names_to = "year", values_to = "value") ``` This raises an behavior: `behavior: need to pivot wider. Values must not be NA.` I've also tried using `drop = FALSE` in the `pivot_longer` function without success. I suspect the presence of `NA` in my column names is causing the scenario, but I don't know how to proceed. Has anyone encountered this question and found a way to handle `NA` values in column names when reshaping data? Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated! For context: I'm using R on Windows. I'd be grateful for any help.
