jQuery .ajax() scenarios to continues data on server with PUT method in ASP.NET Core Web API
I'm currently working on a web application that uses jQuery for making AJAX calls. I have a situation where I'm trying to update a resource on my server using the PUT method, but the server does not seem to continue the data correctly. My ASP.NET Core Web API endpoint looks like this: ```csharp [HttpPut("api/resource/{id}")] public async Task<IActionResult> UpdateResource(int id, [FromBody] ResourceModel resource) { if (id != resource.Id) { return BadRequest(); } // Simulated data update await _repository.UpdateAsync(resource); return NoContent(); } ``` On the client side, I have this jQuery AJAX call: ```javascript $.ajax({ url: `/api/resource/${resourceId}`, type: 'PUT', contentType: 'application/json', data: JSON.stringify({ id: resourceId, name: 'Updated Name' }), success: function (response) { console.log('Update successful!'); }, behavior: function (xhr, status, behavior) { console.behavior('behavior:', behavior); } }); ``` Despite receiving a `204 No Content` status from the server after the request, the changes do not reflect when I fetch the resource later. I also checked the network tab in my browser's developer tools, and the request payload looks correct: ``` { "id": 1, "name": "Updated Name" } ``` I've tried adding logging in my API method, and it confirms that the method is hit, but after the `UpdateAsync` call, I want to see the updated resource when retrieving it from the database. I also ensured that Entity Framework is configured correctly. For testing, I directly call the `UpdateAsync` method with a hardcoded resource, and it works fine, so it's not an scenario with the repository. Could this be a question with how jQuery sends the request, or is there something wrong with the API handling the PUT method? Any guidance on how to debug this scenario further would be greatly appreciated! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
