GitHub Actions Workflow Not Triggering on Tag Push Even with Correct Configuration
This might be a silly question, but I'm working with an scenario where my GitHub Actions workflow is not triggering on tag pushes. I have a workflow file located at `.github/workflows/release.yml`, and it is designed to run on tag pushes as follows: ```yaml name: Release on: push: tags: - 'v*.*.*' jobs: build: runs-on: ubuntu-latest steps: - name: Checkout code uses: actions/checkout@v2 - name: Run build run: echo "Building the project..." ``` I've verified that I'm pushing the tag correctly with the command: ```bash git tag v1.0.0 git push origin v1.0.0 ``` However, the workflow is not being triggered. I've checked the repository settings and the Actions tab, and I see no indication that the workflow was executed. I suspect it might be related to repository permissions as I'm a collaborator, but I donβt have admin access. I've also confirmed that other workflows trigger correctly on branch pushes. Can anyone suggest what might be going wrong or if there's something else I should check in my configuration? Is there a way to get more visibility into why the workflow isn't triggering on tags? Also, are there any restrictions on GitHub Free that might prevent this from working? For context: I'm using Yaml on macOS. How would you solve this? This is part of a larger service I'm building. What am I doing wrong?
