Visual Studio 2022 - scenarios 'The project file could not be loaded' when opening .NET Framework project
I've looked through the documentation and I'm still confused about I'm working with a frustrating scenario when trying to open an existing .NET Framework project in Visual Studio 2022... The project was originally created in Visual Studio 2019 and worked perfectly fine. However, after upgrading to Visual Studio 2022, I'm greeted with the behavior message: `The project file could not be loaded. Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Visual Studio 2019\Projects\MyProject\MyProject.csproj'`. I've verified that the path is correct and the project files are intact. I've tried a few troubleshooting steps: 1. **Repair Visual Studio**: I ran the Visual Studio Installer and performed a repair, but that didn’t resolve the scenario. 2. **Check Framework Target**: The project is targeting .NET Framework 4.7.1. I ensured that this framework is installed and available in Visual Studio 2022. 3. **Recreate `.vs` folder**: I deleted the hidden `.vs` folder in the project directory and reopened the solution. 4. **Clear the Component Model Cache**: I ran the command `devenv /clearcache` in the Developer Command Prompt. None of these steps have solved the scenario. Here is the relevant part of my `.csproj` file for reference: ```xml <Project Sdk="Microsoft.NET.Sdk"> <PropertyGroup> <OutputType>WinExe</OutputType> <TargetFramework>net471</TargetFramework> </PropertyGroup> </Project> ``` Could anyone suggest what else might be causing this question or any further steps I can take to diagnose the scenario? I'd appreciate any help, as I'm currently blocked and unable to access my project. For context: I'm using C# on Ubuntu. How would you solve this? I recently upgraded to C# 3.10. What's the correct way to implement this? Thanks, I really appreciate it!
