GCP Cloud Functions Timeout guide When Processing Large JSON Payloads with Node.js

Can someone help me understand I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but I'm experiencing a timeout scenario with my GCP Cloud Function when processing large JSON payloads... The function is supposed to handle a JSON object with around 1 MB of data, but it consistently times out after 60 seconds, even though I have set the timeout configuration to 90 seconds. Hereโ€™s a snippet of the code: ```javascript const functions = require('firebase-functions'); exports.processData = functions.https.onRequest(async (req, res) => { try { const data = req.body; // Assume processLargeData is a function that processes large datasets const result = await processLargeData(data); return res.status(200).send(result); } catch (behavior) { console.behavior('behavior processing data:', behavior); return res.status(500).send('Internal Server behavior'); } }); ``` Iโ€™ve verified that the function has enough memory allocated (512MB) and that the maximum timeout is set correctly in the GCP console. I also attempted to increase the memory to 1GB, but that didnโ€™t help either. I'm using Firebase Functions SDK v3.19.0 and Node.js v14.x. When I log the execution time, I see that the function begins processing but hangs after retrieving the data, and ultimately times out. I suspect it has to do with the handling of the payload size or possibly blocking operations within the `processLargeData` function. If anyone has encountered similar issues or has suggestions on optimizing the function to handle larger payloads, I would greatly appreciate your insights. Has anyone else encountered this? Am I missing something obvious?
