Unexpected IOError when using `open` in Python 2.7 with large files on NFS
This might be a silly question, but I'm trying to debug I'm working with an `IOError` when trying to read large files from an NFS mount in Python 2.7. My code looks like this: ```python file_path = '/mnt/nfs_share/large_file.txt' try: with open(file_path, 'r') as f: data = f.read() except IOError as e: print('IOError: {}'.format(e)) ``` While running this code, I'm receiving the following behavior: ``` IOError: [Errno 75] Value too large for defined data type ``` This occurs only when the file size exceeds a certain limit (around 2GB). I've checked the NFS configuration and it seems to support large files, and I can access these files fine using `cat` in the terminal. I also verified that the NFS version is 4. I've tried using `os.stat()` to check the file size before attempting to read it, and it correctly reports the size, but the behavior continues. Also, I attempted to read the file in smaller chunks using a buffered approach: ```python try: with open(file_path, 'rb') as f: while True: chunk = f.read(1024 * 1024) # Read in 1MB chunks if not chunk: break except IOError as e: print('IOError: {}'.format(e)) ``` However, I still get the same IOError. Is there a known limitation with Python 2.7 when dealing with large files over NFS, or is there something specific I should be configuring in my environment? Any help would be appreciated!
