how to to Mount NFS Share on Ubuntu 22.04: 'Connection timed out' on Local Network
I've encountered a strange issue with I'm reviewing some code and I recently switched to I'm trying to mount an NFS share from a server running Ubuntu 20.04 to my local machine which is also Ubuntu 22.04. However, I'm working with a 'Connection timed out' behavior when I attempt to mount the share. My NFS server is configured to allow anonymous access, and I have confirmed that the NFS service is running properly. I have the following entry in my '/etc/exports' on the NFS server: ```bash /home/user/nfs_share *(rw,sync,no_subtree_check) ``` On the client side, I execute the mount command: ```bash sudo mount -t nfs 192.168.1.100:/home/user/nfs_share /mnt/nfs ``` Where `192.168.1.100` is the IP address of my NFS server. I've tried pinging the server from the client, and that works fine, confirming that there are no network issues. I also checked the firewall settings on both machines and ensured that ports 2049 (NFS) and 111 (RPC) are open: ```bash sudo ufw allow from 192.168.1.100 to any port nfs sudo ufw allow from 192.168.1.100 to any port 111 ``` Still, I receive the connection timed out behavior. I checked the logs on the NFS server, and there are no errors reported when I try to mount. Additionally, I've confirmed that the NFS service is set to start on boot: ```bash sudo systemctl enable nfs-server sudo systemctl start nfs-server ``` I've also attempted to mount the share using the IP address instead of the hostname, thinking it might be a DNS scenario, but that yielded the same results. I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this timeout. Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is my first time working with Bash 3.11. Thanks for any help you can provide! What would be the recommended way to handle this? I'm working in a Windows 11 environment. What are your experiences with this?
