OCI Networking: Intermittent VPN Connection Drops when Accessing On-Premises Resources
I'm performance testing and This might be a silly question, but I'm attempting to set up I'm experiencing intermittent drops in the VPN connection to my on-premises resources when using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)... The VPN setup is configured to use the static routing option, and I have verified that my OCI instance can ping the on-premises gateway consistently. However, during high traffic periods, the connection drops, and I see the following behavior in my OCI logs: `VPN tunnel is down - No response from peer`. I've tried adjusting the MTU settings on both sides and have set the keep-alive interval to 10 seconds. Below is the configuration snippet I used for the VPN tunnel: ```json { "tunnel": { "ike_version": "ikev2", "static_routes": [ "10.0.0.0/24" ], "tunnel_cidrs": [ "192.168.0.0/24" ], "keep_alive_interval": 10, "mtu": 1400 } } ``` Despite these attempts, the drops still occur, particularly when the bandwidth usage exceeds 75%. I’ve also checked the logs on the on-premises side and found no apparent issues. Are there specific best practices for configuring the OCI VPN that I might have overlooked? Could this potentially be related to the OCI region's network performance? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Any pointers in the right direction?
