HTML `<form>` Not Submitting on Enter Key Press - Need implement for Accessibility
I'm relatively new to this, so bear with me. Hey everyone, I'm running into an issue that's driving me crazy... I'm working with an scenario where an HTML `<form>` does not submit when pressing the Enter key, which is affecting accessibility for users who rely on keyboard navigation. I'm using HTML5 and ensuring that my form inputs have the proper `name` attributes. The form includes multiple input fields, and I've set the `action` and `method` attributes correctly. However, pressing Enter on the last input field does not trigger the form submission, and no behavior messages appear in the console. Here's a simplified version of my code: ```html <form action="/submit" method="post"> <input type="text" name="username" required /> <input type="password" name="password" required /> <input type="email" name="email" required /> <button type="submit">Submit</button> </form> ``` Iβve tried adding an `onkeypress` event listener to the inputs to manually trigger the form submission, but that approach feels hacky. Hereβs what I attempted: ```javascript const form = document.querySelector('form'); const inputs = form.querySelectorAll('input'); inputs.forEach(input => { input.addEventListener('keypress', function(event) { if (event.key === 'Enter') { form.submit(); } }); }); ``` This works, but it feels like I'm bypassing standard behavior. I want to adhere to best practices and ensure that the form is usable without any JavaScript. Is there a standard way to ensure the form submits correctly on Enter key press without additional JavaScript? Any insights on handling this would be greatly appreciated. What am I doing wrong? For context: I'm using Html on Debian. Any suggestions would be helpful. The stack includes Html and several other technologies. Thanks in advance!
