Bootstrap 5 Modal not closing when clicking outside despite settings
I'm migrating some code and I'm working on a project using Bootstrap 5.3 and I've set up a modal that should close when the user clicks outside of it. However, it's not functioning as expected. I have the following HTML structure for my modal: ```html <div class="modal fade" id="myModal" tabindex="-1" aria-labelledby="exampleModalLabel" aria-hidden="true"> <div class="modal-dialog"> <div class="modal-content"> <div class="modal-header"> <h5 class="modal-title" id="exampleModalLabel">Modal title</h5> <button type="button" class="btn-close" data-bs-dismiss="modal" aria-label="Close"></button> </div> <div class="modal-body"> This is the modal body. </div> <div class="modal-footer"> <button type="button" class="btn btn-secondary" data-bs-dismiss="modal">Close</button> <button type="button" class="btn btn-primary">Save changes</button> </div> </div> </div> </div> ``` I've also included the necessary Bootstrap CSS and JS files in my project, and I'm initializing the modal with the following JavaScript: ```javascript var myModal = new bootstrap.Modal(document.getElementById('myModal'), { backdrop: 'static' }); ``` I'm using the `backdrop: 'static'` option because I want the modal to remain open when clicking outside, but I expected that setting `data-bs-backdrop="true"` on the modal would allow it to close when clicking outside. However, it doesn't seem to respond to clicks outside of the modal at all. Is there something I'm missing here? Could my JavaScript initialization be conflicting with the HTML attributes? I've tried removing `backdrop: 'static'` and simply using the HTML attribute, but it still doesnβt work. I see no error messages in the console, and Iβve double-checked that all Bootstrap scripts are loading correctly. Any insights on how to resolve this would be appreciated! This issue appeared after updating to Javascript 3.9. For context: I'm using Javascript on Windows 11. Could someone point me to the right documentation?
