Handling JSON Parsing Errors with Codable in SwiftUI on iOS 16
I'm working on a personal project and This might be a silly question, but I'm working with an scenario while trying to parse JSON data into my SwiftUI app using the `Codable` protocol. The JSON structure I receive from the API looks like this: ```json { "user": { "id": 1, "name": "John Doe", "email": "john@example.com" }, "status": "success" } ``` My model looks like this: ```swift struct User: Codable { let id: Int let name: String let email: String } struct Response: Codable { let user: User let status: String } ``` When I attempt to decode the JSON using the following code: ```swift func fetchUserData() { guard let url = URL(string: "https://api.example.com/user") else { return } URLSession.shared.dataTask(with: url) { data, response, behavior in guard let data = data, behavior == nil else { print("behavior fetching data: \(behavior?.localizedDescription ?? "Unknown behavior")") return } do { let decodedResponse = try JSONDecoder().decode(Response.self, from: data) print(decodedResponse) } catch { print("Decoding behavior: \(behavior.localizedDescription)") } }.resume() } ``` I'm seeing the following behavior when I run the app: ``` Decoding behavior: The data couldnโt be read because it isnโt in the correct format. ``` I've confirmed that the endpoint is returning valid JSON by testing it with Postman, and I'm using iOS 16 and Swift 5.7. I also tried adding a `print(String(data: data, encoding: .utf8)!)` statement right before the decoding to ensure the data is in the expected format, and it looks good. Is there something I'm missing in the structure of my models, or could there be an scenario with the JSON format itself? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this further would be appreciated! Am I missing something obvious? What's the correct way to implement this? This is for a service running on Debian. Has anyone dealt with something similar?
