swift swiftui uicollectionview Swift

I'm having a hard time understanding I'm relatively new to this, so bear with me. I'm having trouble with a UICollectionView in my iOS 17 app using SwiftUI. The scenario arises when I try to update the data source after an API call; the cells don't seem to update correctly. I've set up the UICollectionView to use a custom cell, and I'm using the `List` component to wrap around it. Here's a snippet of my code: ```swift struct MyCollectionView: View { @State private var items: [MyItem] = [] var body: some View { List { ForEach(items) { item in MyCustomCell(item: item) } } .onAppear { loadData() } } func loadData() { // Simulating an API call DispatchQueue.main.asyncAfter(deadline: .now() + 2) { items = fetchDataFromAPI() } } } ``` The `fetchDataFromAPI` function retrieves data from a remote server and should provide an updated array of `MyItem`. However, after the API call, the cells remain unchanged, and I don't see any errors in the console, which is perplexing. I've tried forcing the update by calling `objectWillChange.send()` on my `@State` variable, but that led to the app crashing with a "Thread 1: Fatal behavior: Index out of range" behavior when I returned to the view. I've also ensured that the `items` array is not empty when I attempt to display it. The collection view layout is defined correctly, and the scenario continues across both simulator and physical devices. Has anyone encountered this scenario before? Is there a better practice for handling updates to UICollectionView cells in SwiftUI? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! This issue appeared after updating to Swift LTS. Any pointers in the right direction? I'm working with Swift in a Docker container on Ubuntu 20.04.
